St. Cecilia's Public School, Delhi

St. Cecilia's Public School dedicated its school activities to the core values of the Commonwealth Games, humanity, equality and destiny, which were adopted by the Games movement in 2001.

The students of the primary wing put up a special assembly welcoming the CWG baton displaying the pride and joy Indians feel in hosting the event. The children staged a ballet mirroring the rich cultural diversity of the country and the spirit of Atithi Devo Bhava. The junior students put up a colourful fashion show while the middle wing students dressed up as the mascot Shera and paid a visit to the neighbouring areas of the school to spread awareness among the locals about the upcoming Games and to instill a spirit of enthusiasm in them. The interaction with the people of the area elated the students. Children also took part in a painting competition. The students of the senior wing gave presentations. The school campus has been adorned with cutouts, posters, brochures and writeups about the Commonwealth Games and the popular mascot Shera. The students also took part in various activities like inter-house quiz, nukkad natak, etc. A salad making competition was also held emphasising the need of healthy and nutritious diet for every individual.
