DLF Public School, Sahibabad

DLF Public School, Sahibabad held the CBSE East zone swimming meet 2010 from September 24-26 culminated in a valedictory function graced by Pushkar Vohra (assistant sports education officer, CBSE). Splashing through 110 finals in free style, breast stroke, butterfly stroke and back stroke, individual medley and relay medley ranging from 50 to 1500 meters; Don Bosco School, Guwahati topped the tally followed by DLF, Sahibabad. Leading school in boys’ category were Don Bosco Guwahati and DLF Sahibabad while in girls’ the top two positions were held by Uttam School For Girls, Ghaziabad and The Jain International School, Kanpur. The event saw participation of 350 swimmers from 53 schools. All the winners were accredited with trophies, medals and certificates. Toppers in various categories were Nebinita Debnath and Saira of Parvananda Vidya Mandir, Tripura and DPS, Ghaziabad respectively stood first in U-12 (girls) category whereas Tanishav Talukdar of SBGI, Guhawati stood first in U-12 (boys). Hunar Deshwal of DPS Noida stood first in U-14 (girls) whereas Sagar Kumar of Cambridge, Guhawati secured first position in U-14 (boys). In U-16 category, Apoorva Sahai (DPS Noida) and Jyotirman Dey of Don Bosco Guwahati secured first position in girls’ and boys’ respectively. Devika Pareek of Milton Public School, Agra and Sanjay Singh of CHSP, Ghaziabad stood first in U-19 category. School principal Seema Jerath appreciated the efforts of participants.
